À partir d’une technique qui capture des errances semi-conscientes de manière expressive, Elise Corpataux (*1994, Fribourg) a développé une pratique de la peinture autour de l’image sentimentale. Ses tableaux traversés de tropes romantiques rappellent le passage du temps, les variations des jours, la nostalgie. Souvent en contrepoint, des marqueurs mnésiques indiquent le travail d’une vie psychique en quête de formule pour l’existence.
Life isn’t good it’s excellent construit un panorama autant personnel que dépossédé. Dans son sentimentalisme volontaire, l’affection, là où ça fait mal, est aussi le lieu de l’humour. La peinture de Corpataux évoque les zones de contact entre la mémoire et l’art, et l’idée d’une vie comme célébration.
