Fri-Art, Fribourg’s contemporary art centre, has launched an exhibition concept dedicated to the local contemporary art scene, with the intention of stimulating exchange and encounter. The present result is Fri-Art’s Christmas exhibition, entitled Our house, in the middle of our street - a song on a family the me by the ska group “Madness”. Our house, in the middle of our street is not only a presentation of recent works of artists from different generations, it also outlines varied artistic practices. A specialist jury selected the works on the basis of the artists’ documentation. The works selected are exhibited in various spaces of the centre. They unfold in three parts, with paradigmatic elements associated according to the following criteria: human beings and their chimaeras (between artifice and futility), culture and nature, the abstract and the figurative.
