Die Folklore findet zwar weitgehend abseits des modernen Lebens statt, hier und da dient sie jedoch weiterhin als Spiegel der Identität von Gemeinschaften. Der folkloristische Ausdruck mit seinen ungezählten Wiederverwertungen zu touristischen und identitätsstiftenden Zwecken ist nie weit entfernt vom Stereotyp. Hinter dieser Folklore spielt sich gleichwohl ein breites Spektrum an Sprachen, Inspirationen, Einzigartigkeiten, Formen und Sachkenntnis ab. Die Ausstellung – ein Exkurs auf der Grundlage einiger archetypischer Folkloreelemente – zeigt Gemeinsamkeiten, lebendiges Vermächtnis und vorprogrammierte Verschwinden auf.
